Teaching & Tutoring

Whether individual or group instruction is recommended, Multisensory Teaching provides a nurturing environment with a teacher experienced in working with children who have multiple needs. Beyond enjoying and benefiting from the academic success that comes from the program, students build a strong rapport with the teacher and often come to greatly enjoy each session. We know how difficult it can be to discover your child is struggling in school. Our goal is to offer guidance that will uncover a path to success.

50-Minute Sessions May Include the Following Components

Phonological Awareness

Students demonstrate phonemic awareness through a variety of activities, including identifying, comparing, separating, combining, and generating sounds.

Handwriting

Students learn the 26 letters of the alphabet with a reduced number of approach strokes.

Initial Reading Deck

A daily 3-5 minute review that engages auditory, visual and kinesthetic learning modalities.

Spelling Deck

A daily 3-5 minute multisensory activity using sand, shaving cream and other tools to review letter sounds.

Reading/Phonics

A fun discovery activity that introduces students to new sounds and reading concepts.

Reading Practice Pages

An opportunity for students to practice the new reading concept.

Spelling Lesson

A discovery activity for students to learn a new spelling pattern or rule.

Extended Reading/Writing

An opportunity for students to practice reading and writing using decodable text and graphic organizers.

Oral Language

Students build their oral language skills through naming, describing activities, listening comprehension and retelling stories.

Listening Comprehension

An opportunity for the teacher to read aloud to a student, building their comprehension skills.

Tutoring costs range between $45-$85 based on the student’s needs. Group rates begin at $40/session.
